Bank and BSNL workers will also join today's strike

The one-day strike on 26 November on the call of the central trade union will have an impact on the functioning of the capital’s bank, BSNL, income tax office and other central government offices. Preparations continued on Wednesday to make the strike a success. Several meetings were also organized by various organizations. Employees will take to the streets on Thursday with their respective demands. From 9 o’clock in the morning, the striking employees will protest in front of the offices in protest of their demands and protest.

Bank functioning will be affected

Most of the employees of all commercial banks, rural banks and cooperative banks are participating in the strike except the branches of State Bank and Private Banks. To make it successful, a meeting was held at the Allahabad Bank Union office at Kotwali police station on Wednesday. The organization’s General Secretary Utpalakant said that people from all over Bihar joined in and the strategy was discussed. He said that banks would be affected by the divisional offices and ATMs of banks due to the strike. Dr. Kumar Arvind, Senior Vice President of All India Bank Officers Association said that the strike will affect the functioning of the bank branch as well as the clearing house

Rameshwar Prasad, president of Bihar Provincial Bank Employees Association, said that the strike will also involve business banks as well as employees of Grameen Bank and Cooperative Bank. All India Bank Officers Association Joint Secretary DN Trivedi said that in the strike the withdrawal of privatization of banks, increase interest on deposits in banks, recovery of NPA loan from corporate houses, ban on outsourcing, re-implement old pension scheme Doing etc. are the main demands. Mithun Kumar, general secretary of the South Bihar Gramin Bank Employees Association, said that in support of the strike, the rural bank employees would stage a sit-in in front of the head office.

Cadre restructuring demands

The state president of the Central Employees Federation, Bihar State Committee, CD Singh said that his organization will join the nationwide strike on Thursday on the call of the union labor organizations. He said that the organization members have strongly opposed the arbitrary dearness allowance including pensioner benefits to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. There is deep resentment among the workers for their organization’s 17-point pending demands not being met. Among the demands, the introduction of the old pension system by abolishing the new contributory pension, cadre restructuring and ensuring five promotions in the form of time-bound promotions, etc. are prominent. Employees will join the united movement in the presence of the organization’s Manoj Singh, Amitabh Ranjan, Sanjay Kumar Sinha etc.

Pay revision is also an important issue

Under the banner of All India BSNL DOT Pensioners Association, telecom workers will stage a sit-in at the Telecom House on Thursday. Association’s Circle Minister NK Srivastava said that the organizations are joining the strike in support of the five-point demands. This includes salary revision of BSNL employees from 1 January 2017, pension revision of retired employees, release of 4G service, release of BSNL revival package, etc.

Pensioners Association protest march

The Pensioners Association is also joining the strike of the Central Trade Union. Association General Secretary Bhola Sharma said that in support of their various demands, pensioners will take out a protest march from railway station Patna. At the same time, under the banner of Bihar Medical and Public Health Employees Union, a dharna will be performed in front of the District Magistrate at the dharna site located at Girdnibagh on Thursday. The district convenor of the organization Dinesh Kumar said that medical and public health workers will submit their memorandum of memorandum to the DM after the demonstration.
