Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (English: Humpty Sharma’s Bride) is a 2014 Bollywood romantic-comedy film, directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar. The film features Varun Dhawan as Rakesh “Humpty” Sharma and Alia Bhatt as Kavya Pratap Singh in the lead roles. The film is highly inspired by Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. The film was released on 11 July 2014 and had a very good opening at the box office,, collecting INR33.5 crore (US$5.6 million) nett in it’s first weekend.
