Dear Friends!!
Started in 1926, the Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Bela, Muzaffarpur, and affiliated as a branch of Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math in July 2003, has been serving the people of North Bihar through its religious, medical and humanitarian services with the twin ideals of self-realisation and service to humanity as preached by the great Swami Vivekananda.
Among its activities, medical services to the people of surrounding areas through its Homeopathic and Allopathic out patients departments and Eye Hospital with a modern Eye Operation Theatre built with the help of Infosys foundation, Banglore, is being rendered regularly.
Many poor patients from far and near are given free services, according to the available resources. Cataract operations with IOL implantations are done by qualified eye surgeons. Eye-camps for villagers are also held, sponsored by Banks and Well-Wishers.
The Sevashrama as a part of its service to the poor and backward people, runs a Balak Sangha comprising of 60 boys and girls giving them one evening meal and non-formal education everyday.
North Bihar comes under the grief of flood every year and the Sevashrama renders services to flood victims with food, medicines and clothings.
The beautiful temple of Shri Ramakrishna in marble image stands in its premises as the source of inspiration to monks, devotees and friends. Annual celebrations of the birthdays of Shri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Shri Sharada Devi and Swami Vivekananda and other saints and sages attract devotees in large number. Rama-Naam Sankirtana is sung on each Ekadashi day. Shri Shri Kali Puja in image is a regular feature. The hospital bulidings, including Eye Ward are almost in a dilapidated condition due to their old non-reinforced construction causing sufficient discomfort and insecurity to the patients, doctors, staff and other members. Moreover the expanding spheres of activities are facing scarcity of space. In order to install modern equipments to serve the poor and to meet the academic needs of the poor local students through establishment of a book library, we need to renovate and expand the existing constructions.
Shri Ramakrishna often used to say, “GOD is worshipped in image of clay and stone. Can we not worship the living GOD in human being with the same spirit?” This has been the source of inspiration for the monks of the mission for starting various social services to the less privileged through its medical, educational and other humanitarian services.
All the above activities depend on the availability of resources from friends and devotees like you. Muzaffarpur Sevashrama needs funds to maintain its services. We, hereby, fervently appeal to all the large-hearted friends and well-wishers to come forward and help us with donations to carry on the Lord’s work.
Donations to the mission are exempted from Income Tax under Sec-80G of the Income Tax Act. You may please send your donations by cheque/draft in the name of “Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama, Muzaffarpur” at this address :-
